The Contemporary Dance Ensemble of Virginia Tech was founded in 1990 to promote dance and artistic expression in the community and university.  Although primarily focused on contemporary and modern dance at its onset, the CDE has since benefited and grown from the influences of its members, advisors, and other dance professionals.  Today, CDE's repertoire is an eclectic mix that includes ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, as well as modern and contemporary.
