The Contemporary Dance Ensemble of Virginia Tech was founded in 1990 to promote dance and artistic expression in the community and university. Although primarily focused on contemporary and modern dance at its onset, CDE has since benefited and grown from the influences of its members, advisors, and other dance professionals. Today, CDE's repertoire is an eclectic mix that includes ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, as well as modern and contemporary. Website updated by Madigan Milford June 2009

Auditions for the Contemporary Dance Ensemble will be held August 28th from 5:30-7:30pm in the War Memorial Dance Room in War Memorial Gym. Pre-audition classes will be held August 24th and 26th in the same location. The audition will consist of four half hour sections: warm-up, ballet barre, across the floor, and a combination.
